For many people, snoring is
not a serious health problem, but an annoying and tiring complaint that can
cause broken, disturbed and lost sleep not only to the sufferers, but also to
their partners and children. From this perspective, snoring can be very
distressing, cause many arguments and even lead to serious relationship
problems.
Snoring occurs when air does not have a smooth passage through the upper respiratory air ways to the lungs. During deep sleep, muscles in the roof of soft palate, tongue and throat relax, causing the air passages to slack and narrow. If during sleep the mouth partially opens and the air is breathed in through the narrowed air ways of the oral cavity, it can cause tissues (i.e. tonsils or adenoids) at the back of the throat to vibrate, creating the sound of snoring. Sometimes snoring can also be generated by a partial blockage that is caused by congestion, such as rhinitis or infection. Most often making simple lifestyle changes - such as losing weight, sleeping on your side rather than on your back, reducing alcohol consumption - can help. Other times, more radical interventions, including surgery, may be required to restore peace, tranquillity and domestic harmony.
The SnoreStoppes is discreet and barely noticeable when worn on the wrist. It is safe and has no side effects. It does not even wake its wearer nor the partner. SnoreStopper uses a unique step-wise approach to stopping snoring. SnoreStopper's biosensor detects the snoring after three consecutive snores. A gentle electronic impulse is generated and applied to the skin on the wrist. The brain detects the signal and prompts the snorer to alter the sleeping position, leading to a change in breathing pattern - this stops the snoring.
SnoreStopper is not a miracle box and will not stop you snoring on the first night. You will see the benefits of the SnoreStopper after 1 - 2 weeks of consecutive night wear. During this time, SnoreStopper trains your body to reduce snoring gradually, giving you and your partner progressively better and better night sleep. SnoreStopper is a long term solution - not just a temporary relief! Please note that you should not use the SnoreStopper, if you have a heart pacemaker fitted or you suffer from sleep apnoea. You must not use SnoreStopper during pregnancy, acute phases of diseases and infections.
