PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MOST RECENT TERMINOLOGY REFERS TO LLLT AS LASER PHOTOTHERAPY LOW LEVEL LASERS OR COLD LASERS ARE NOW REFERRED TO AS LASER PHOTOTHERAPY DEVICES In the recent times, doctors and therapists often
choose non invasive
and natural therapy methods that deliver efficacy and Light is the most fundamental life
force.
Light provides energy and facilitates
essential metabolic processes that sustain life. Lasers are the latest and the most advanced light sources. Lasers generate artificial light and amplify it into focused intense beams of light. Laser technology plays a growing role in many aspects of modern life, including many fields of human and veterinary medicine as well as medical and cosmetic aesthetics. Non-invasive and non ablative low level laser therapy - laser phototherapy - cold laser therapy - soft laser therapy - has a bright future! Low level laser therapy devices - cold lasers - have been in medical and veterinary use for some 35 years. In the USA, the FDA recently approved therapeutic/medical low level lasers for human use, because of their excellent safety with no significant risks attached. To date, much efforts have been vested in research into the effectiveness of the non invasive and non ablative LLLT - cold laser therapy/low level laser therapy - and its applications in medicine, dermatology, orthopaedics, sports medicine, dental medicine, non invasive anti-aging procedures and also in veterinary medicine. Please note that the current terminology refers to LLLT and LLLT devices as LASER PHOTOTHERAPY and LASER PHOTOTHERAPY DEVICES.
Clinical studies show that the LLLT - low level laser therapy -
laser phototherapy - achieves
excellent outcomes in wound healing, reduction of inflammation and in pain
relief. Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is painless, non invasive and non
ablative or in any way abrasive to tissues. It does not cause any trauma
or damage to the tissues. Soft lasers - also called cold lasers or low level lasers
- load light energy into the cells and spearhead a series of cellular biochemical
reactions that promote and support regeneration of cells, collagen production and a formation of new tissues.
This process is called BIOSTIMULATION. Biostimulation reduces pain and
inflammation, improves blood flow, stimulates collag For more detailed information about the LLLT (laser phototherapy), we recommend a book from Prima Books, entitled 'Laser Therapy Handbook' by Jan Tuner and Lars Hode and other clinical guides to low level laser therapy as presented on our LLLT Books page. You can also visit www.laser.nu Low level lasers/cold lasers/soft lasers are becoming increasingly popular as they offer effective and side effect free pain relief. Even people with persistent and intractable chronic pain that did not not respond to other treatments are likely to respond well to low level laser therapy. LLLT - laser phototherapy - also reduces inflammation and swelling and accelerates wound healing, including healing of stubborn leg ulcers, diabetic foot problems and pressure sores that often present in the older population. See the figure on the right for graphic illustration of accelerated wound healing with laser when compared with healing without a laser over a period of 7 days. Low level lasers/soft lasers/ cold lasers can speed up recovery and healing of sports injuries and are most useful to people actively participating in all types of sports - both recreationally and professionally. Low level laser therapy - laser phototherapy - is convenient and easy to carry out and when low level lasers have been designed for 'Home Use' no specific user training is required. Hence, in recent years, modern low level lasers fall broadly into 2 categories - cold lasers/soft laser for home use and low level lasers for professional use at therapy clinics.
'Home Use' low level lasers/cold lasers/soft lasers have been designed for safe and easy use at home by people who have not received formal training in laser therapy. Such low level lasers are not only effective and also very safe and simple to use. User instructions include detailed treatment recommendations and a simple operational guide. 'Home use' soft lasers present a device with many applications on people of all ages as well as on pets and working animals and can be truly perceived as 'Home Doctor'. You can see examples of soft lasers suitable for 'Home Use' on other pages of this website: PalmLaser, PalmLaser Sports, PalmLaser Vet, Vitagnost Highlight, HairMax LaserComb.
'Professional Use'/'Clinic Use' low level lasers/soft lasers/cold lasers - such as LaserCat - have been developed to enable trained operators (i.e. doctors, physiotherapists, beauticians) to apply a safe and effective biostimulating laser therapy at clinics, hospitals and/or salons. Soft lasers for professionals are slightly more complex than 'home therapy' cold laser devices and give the best outcomes, when used by people with some general medical knowledge or with an understanding of the skin and skin related beauty therapies (i.e. qualified beautician or beauty therapist). For instance, the LaserCat stores a comprehensive list of pre-programmed parameters for the treatment of a large variety of medical, orthopaedic, dental, dermatological and cosmetic conditions. For optimum outcomes it is helpful that an operator is familiar with basic terminology and can recognise some general symptoms of these conditions. However, this is not to say that the operator has to hold medical or nursing qualifications as LaserCat can be easily operated by medically non qualified persons.
LaserCat Low Level Laser (Laser Phototherapy Device) for Professional Use at Clinics and Salons
LaserCat is a biostimulation soft laser (cold laser) that has been designed to relieve pain, accelerate tissue repair and cellular regeneration, speed up wound healing and reduce inflammation. LaserCat also rejuvenates skin, reduces pigmentation, accelerates collagen production and exerts an array of anti-aging beauty effects. LaserCat presents medical professionals and/or beauty therapists with non invasive, safe and effective therapy modality, that stimulates the endogenous healing, regeneration and normalising processes painlessly and without any type of tissue trauma or side effects.
For the patients or customers - LaserCat treatment is a relaxing and an enjoyable experience. LaserCat is a professional laser device that is tailored to the needs of medical professionals (i.e. doctors and physiotherapists) and other therapists (i.e. alternative therapies specialists and beauticians). LaserCat delivers energy to tissues and stimulates cellular metabolism leading to specific therapeutic outcomes, some of which are listed below:
LaserCat is user friendly, easy to handle and simple to operate. LaserCat is a combination of red laser and infrared laser that can operate separately as stand alone red or infrared laser. Alternatively, they can operate together when required, emitting red as well as infrared waves. The red continuous wave laser operates on 35 mW power output and the infrared pulsed laser has the maximum 50 mW output depending upon chosen pulse frequency. LaserCat employs 3 laser diodes. Two of the diodes are red diodes AlGaInP emitting red continuous 650 nm light wave. These two red diodes form the red laser that operates on 35 mW power output. The third diode InGaAs emits pulsed 904 nm infrared wave in the invisible light spectrum. The frequency of the pulsed light - pulsed infrared laser - can be modified in 1 Hz steps from 1 Hz to 10000 Hz with power output of the infrared laser varying with the changing frequency to the maximum of 50 mW. The total maximum power output of the LaserCat operating simultaneously on both lasers (red and infrared) is 85 mW.
The smallest tip is 3.5 mm in diameter and is used mainly for laser acupuncture and irradiation of trigger points. The medium tip has a diameter of 7.85 mm and is used for most of indications. The third tip is the largest at 13 mm in diameter and is recommended for treatment of larger areas, especially when such areas are to be treated completely during each one treatment session (i.e. alopecia areata, large wounds, large burns, large herpes zoster lesions, lumbago, stiff neck, painful shoulder, pain in a spinal column, etc.).
LaserCat offers a choice of pre-set settings that address different health problems and an array of beauty and anti aging issues. The therapist simply makes a diagnosis of the patient's condition and select an appropriate pre- set treatment setting for that condition on the LaserCat console. LaserCat will thereafter carry out the treatment on the preset treatment parameters. LaserCat allows the therapists to select and vary the following parameters according to the different patient conditions and needs as assessed by the therapists:
Therapists and doctors trained in laser therapy can set the LaserCat to individual programmes that are based on the therapists assessment of patients needs and conditions and on their own knowledge of laser therapy independent of the pre-set settings. In other words, LaserCat presents a choice of convenient pre-set settings appropriate for a variety of conditions or be set independently according to the therapists' judgement, experience and estimation of the patients needs. LaserCat allows the therapist to select or set treatment parameters and thereafter save them for subsequent uses under individual patient names. Data can be stored for as long as required. Data can also be very easily modified or deleted. For convenience, LaserCat has a number of preset treatments that are stored in the LaserCat computer in the LaserCat console for easy selection. All preset indications are also listed in the LaserCat manual. You can see examples of preset treatments in the lower part of this web page.
Please note that the LaserCat
is a Class 1M medical laser and use of goggles is not required. However, therapists
may wish to use goggles for their peace of mind to prevent patients from
accidental glances into the laser beam.
LaserCat has a life span of 10 years. CE marked medical device Class 2. Laser Class 1M. 24 months warranty.
