Insects are found in all corners of our world. They strike at anytime of the day and night, causing pain, discomfort and inconvenience.

Insect bites are laceration-like puncture wound caused by the insect stings.

Insect stings can be painful, irritating, unsightly and itchy. Itchy puncture marks, red bumps and inflamed sores aggravated by scratching can stay on the skin for many days, causing discomfort and distress. They itch and swell and usually are made worse by scratching.

You can minimise your chances of being bitten by insects in a number of different ways:

bulletfit fly screens to windows and doors
bulletwear long sleeved shirts and/or long legged trousers
bulletwear close fitting clothes
bulletavoid hectic movements that draw the insects attention
bulletavoid killing the insects as it can make other insects aggressive because of the aroma released
bulletuse mosquito nets in sleeping areas
bulletkeep well away from nests and swarms of insects

What happens during insect stings:

During the stinging/biting, the insects release a type of saliva that contains toxic protein molecules. These toxic protein molecules lead to local reaction on the skin around the puncture wound. Inflammation, redness and swelling follow, forming unpleasant itchy bumps and blisters on the skin.

The toxic protein molecules can be destroyed at temperatures around 50OC. High temperature alters the molecular structure of the proteins and renders the toxins harmless, thus preventing the toxin related reaction in the skin from developing.

Insect Bite Healer Sanitas generates and utilises high temperature to speed up healing of recent fresh insect bites.

Beurer Sanitas SIS 40 Insect Bite Healer features a tiny hot plate tip that heats up the insect bite puncture wound to over 50OC. The heat destroys the toxins, rending them harmless. The itching subsides, symptoms improve and healing process can begin.

Sanitas SIS 40 Insect Bite Healer is at its most effective, when used immediately after the insect sting occurs. This is because the toxins have been rendered harmless before becoming fully active in the tissues surrounding the bite puncture wound.

Using the insect bite healer at much later stage, when the itching and swelling is already present, is less effective.

Please note that if you are allergic to insect bites, the Sanitas Insect Bite Healer will not help against the allergy!

Beurer Sanitas SIS 40 Insect Bite Healer / Mosquito Bite Healer is easy to use.

bulletFirstly remove any remains of the sting from the puncture wound.
bulletPress the large blue control button at the top of the unit, holding the heating plate tip directly on the bite wound for as long as it feels comfortable. The heat generated by the hot plate tip on the device renders the toxins harmless.
bulletRelease the control button and remove the device away from the skin.
bulletThe device stops the hot plate heating automatically as soon as you have released the control button. The hot plate cools down in about 30 seconds and the insect bite healer is ready for another application.
