Plantar Flexion:
Herbst Cradle is made of soft yet durable 'rip stop' nylon fabric, which is cool to touch and soothing to the skin. Herbst Cradle protects the foot, whilst reducing pressure and abrasions caused by bed linen. Anti-bacterial inner filling creates a soft cradle that alleviates pressure. A pocket of beads in the inner centre back wall of the leg section enhances blood circulation. Posterior (back) and plantar brace made of light rigid plastic keeps the foot positioned at 90 degrees angle, whilst the anti-rotation bar at the back prevents the lower leg rotation. Herbst Cradle is lightweight
and comfortable. It is compatible with either foot - left or
right - as required. Velcro® straps enable fast, easy and comfortable fitting
without excessive, inappropriate or too restrictive binding.
Herbst Cradle was designed by a podiatrist and presents an affective as well as cost effective way for managing decubital foot and leg ulcers, bed linen abrasions on lower legs, plantar flexion problems, Achilles' contractures and undesirable lower leg rotations. Herbst Cradle is available in sizes based on the length of foot as measured from the end of the heel to the tip of the big toe.
Herbst Cradle is easy to clean
- simply wipe it with an antiseptic or hand wash it in warm water and air
dry naturally. The fabric will not harbour micro-organisms.
Herbst Cradle Protector is fully machine washable and can be tumble dried. Herbst Cradle is a CE marked Medical Device.

Herbst
Cradle comes with a polycotton protector that is to be draped around the foot
prior to placing it in the Herbst Cradle. The protector is a soft knit white
liner that further protects and cushions delicate and vulnerable skin. The
protector is especially useful for people with sensitive skin and for those, who
are unable to wear a sock or a stocking. 
Herbst
Cradle can be easily dismantled for cleaning and/or for appropriate re-positioning
of the anti-rotation bar.
