Cardio24 Mobile ECG is a personal non invasive hand held heart monitoring device utilising 'Modified Lead 1 - ECG' measurements that are normally obtained from the traditional Lead I ECG signal. Cardio24 allows you to measure and record electrical activities of your heart. Cardio24 is a a convenient and easy to use pocket ECG that traces, measures and records the electrical signals generated in your heart via 2 built in electrodes (conductive plates). Cardio24 Mobile ECG displays the measured parameters instantly and digitally on its LCD screen.

You can also transfer all the measurements to a personal computer through a simple USB connection. You can store them, edit them, print them or even transmit them electronically directly to your doctor for interpretation.

Our hearts are the most important organs in our bodies. Our hearts pump blood around our bodies through automatic rhythmic continuous contractions, delivering oxygen, nutrients and hormones to all parts of our bodies and returning oxygen depleted blood to the lungs for re-oxygenation throughout our entire lives.

Human heart is a small muscular organ with 4 chambers. The 2 smaller upper chambers are referred to as 'atria' and the larger lower chambers are called 'ventricles'. On average, a human heart weighs only about 300 grams. The heart is a very responsive and a very hard working organ. It produces about 2.5 billion beats during the course of an average lifetime and pumps approximately 300 million litres of blood around human body. Human heart can respond very fast to the changing requirements of the body. It can increase its output from as little as 5 litres of blood per minute to as much as 35 litres per minute, thus delivering more oxygen and nutrients to the tissues at the time of greater needs (i.e. during increased physical efforts).

It is important to be kind to your heart and look after it as best as possible. Leading healthy lifestyles with healthy diets, plenty of exercise and no smoking is crucial to our overall health, cardiac health, fitness and longevity. It is also important to be aware of any potential problems that our hearts could be developing and consult medical professionals immediately. Cardiac problems require early attention as delays in diagnosis and appropriate actions taken could lead to a cardiac damage.

One of the most common methods of detecting heart problems is a painless procedure called electrocardiography or the ECG. The procedure is carried out on a machine - an electrocardiograph - that records and graphically presents the electrical impulses generated in the heart muscle each time the heart beats. The ECG aids doctors in diagnosing of heart arrhythmias and abnormalities (i.e. enlarged or stressed hearts) as well as detect the remaining signs of previously suffered heart attacks.

Cardio24 Mobile ECG is a non-invasive personal hand held monitoring device, designed for an easy use at home. Cardio24 is not a diagnostic device, but serves as a recording unit that measures and records electrical activities of the heart. Cardio24 Mobile ECG is a light, small and portable machine that can be carried around and used conveniently and discreetly anytime and anywhere.

Cardio24 Mobile ECG is simple to use. There are no skin electrodes, leads. wires or conductive gels. Cardio24 has 2 conducting plates built into the surface of the lightweight unit. The measurements are simply taken, when you place your thumbs on the conductive plates.

Cardio24 Mobile ECG measures, records and presents the following parameters:

bulletHeart Rate (HR)
bulletST Segment - this segment can help with the identification of certain cardiac problems (i.e. myocardial infarction, ischaemia)
bulletQRS Interval - this segment corresponds with the currents that cause the contractions of both the ventricles
bulletIrregular Heart Beat

These parameters are not the same as the ECG readings obtained from the traditional ECG machines, which require at least 3 electrodes to be connected to the human body. Instead, the readings presented by the Cardio24 are defined as 'Modified Lead 1 - ECG' measurements and are equivalent to the standard ECG Lead One measurements.

The readings as presented by the Cardio24 Mobile ECG need only 30 seconds of measuring time during which 15 seconds of the 'modified ECG signals' are recorded and displayed instantly on the LCD screen.

PLEASE NOTE that is you prefer or choose to measure your heart values using electrodes placed on your arms - you need to purchase a lead wire and a set of 30 mm diameter round skin electrodes that you will find in our Online Shop.

Cardio24 Mobile ECG is a valuable tool for monitoring of the heart during normal daily activities and for compiling a personal cardiac data bank. Its software allows the users to store the information and to make it available to their physicians retrospectively. However, please note that Cardio24 is not a diagnostic tool and its readings are only intended for monitoring/self-monitoring and recording purposes.

Cardio24 is suitable for use by adults aged 20 and over.

Cardio24 ECG presents the following features and benefits:

bulletcompact and easy to use with only 2 conductive plates (electrodes) using thumbs
bulletconvenient monitoring of electrical activities of the heart
bulletmeasurements can be stored for professional interpretation
bulletconvenient collection of historic ECG data
bulletlong term storage and management of all measurements taken
